NC State Hits ACC Bottom In Athlete Graduation Rates
North Carolina State's graduation rate among athletes is 74 percent. That's the worst graduation rate in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the News & Observer reports. The rates are based on student-athletes who enrolled in 2004 and graduated by 2010. Georgia Tech has the second-lowest rate at 77 percent. Duke and Boston College lead the ACC at 97 percent. The N&O has a graphic with all the federal and NCAA rankings for ACC schools. The NCAA rates differ from the federal government's figures because the NCAA does not penalize schools who transferred or left school early as long as they were in good academic standing, according to the N&O report.
