The Secret Sisters' members make their first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. Since releasing their first album in 2010, Laura and Lydia Rogers have caught the attention of roots-music luminaries like Jason Isbell and T-Bone Burnett — who produced the Alabama sisters' second album, Put Your Needle Down.
The group has toured with She & Him, Paul Simon and Ray LaMontagne; filmed its own PBS special with Elvis Costello and Jakob Dylan; and recorded music for the million-selling soundtrack to The Hunger Games. While its first album contained mostly covers of classic country and traditional songs, Put Your Needle Down finds the Sisters writing much of their own material.
Here, Paddy Ryan joins them on drums, along with guitarist Paul Benjamin and bassist Michael Inscoe.
