Knight Foundation Awards Over $1 Million To Charlotte Arts
Numerous arts organization in Charlotte just got a bump in funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
The Knight foundation is giving more than one million dollars in funding to thirteen Charlotte arts organizations. The goal of the funding is simple: to build the city’s art scene and engage audiences.
Susan Patterson, of the Knight Foundation, says a range of organizations were awarded funding. Some are large and well established like the Mint Museum, the Symphony and the Opera.
Others are small and a little less known.
But all of them, she says—large and small, old and new, make Charlotte a vibrant cultural place—which is why they received the extra funding in the first place.
