Marian Wright Edelman: Freedom Schools One of our guests today says that the deadlock in Washington over whether to raise the debt ceiling may put children around the nation in peril. Marian Wright Edelman thinks that possible cuts in education would do further damage to an already critical situation for children today. Ms. Edelman is the founder of the Children's Defense Fund and has worked much of her professional career to better the lives and future of children around the US. We'll talk about the CDF's Freedom Schools program and what it does to stop and reverse 'Summer Learning Loss,' and about the impact that the Charlotte Freedom School is making as well. Guests Marian Wright Edelman - President of the Children's Defense Fund.
