Author A.J. Hartley On Literature & Shakespeare A.J. Hartley is a scholar, novelist, Shakespearean expert, screenwriter, theatre director, and a Charlottean. He's been a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author several times over. But that's in his spare time, he also teaches and directs at the Shakespeare in Action Center at UNC Charlotte. We sit down with Hartley to talk about how he balances life as a scholar and novelist. He also discusses his latest project - bringing the historical Macbeth to life. Along with Co-Author David Hewson, he has written Macbeth: A Novel directly as an audiobook, narrated by actor Alan Cumming. Guest Dr. A. J.
