Candidates for Charlotte Mayor The Republican Presidential Primary is in full swing and closer to home candidates are lining up for seats on the City Council and School Board. For only the second time in two decades, there is also a race to be Mayor of Charlotte. Incumbent Anthony Foxx is looking to continue what he started after taking office in 2009 but Republican Scott Stone has stepped forward as a Republican challenger.
