Consumer Behavior and Marketing Did you know that when you walk into a store and it has a lot of variety, you tend to buy more? Barbara Kahn, our guest today, says that's a widely known consumer behavior, but she's recently completed research that say that consumers also tend to buy more if there's a perceived increase in variety -when the actual variety hasn't increased. This has many implications, one major one being obesity here in the US. We'll talk about our consumption of products, food and otherwise, and find out how and why we make decisions we may not even realize we're making. Guest Barbara Kahn - Professor of Marketing and Director of the Baker Retailing Center at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
