Join us for “Jace’s Journey” as we embark on a meaningful mission to address maternal health disparities. Starting at Belle Johnston Community Center in Pineville, NC, our event will take you through the newest section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

Jace’s Journey Inc, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2018 to confront the alarming racial disparities in maternal health outcomes. It’s a sad reality that the US is the only industrialized nation with rising maternal mortality rates, and this increase disproportionately affects women of color. African-American mothers are dying at 3-4 times the rate of non-Hispanic whites, and infants born to African-American mothers are facing twice the risk of mortality compared to infants born to non-Hispanic white mothers.

Their experience taught them that Tomeka’s sickness and Jace’s tragic passing could have been prevented. In honor of their son, the Isaacs established “Jace’s Journey” with the mission to raise awareness and contribute to improving maternal and fetal healthcare disparities.
