WFAE's EQUALibrium Live: Advancing Maternal Health Equity
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were nearly 33 maternal deaths for every 100,000 live births in 2021. This is more than 10 times the estimated rates compared to other industrialized countries. Black mothers are more likely to die from birth-related complications with almost 70 deaths per 100,000 births.
WFAE's EQUALibrium Live: "Advancing Maternal Health Equity" explores the disparities that exist in maternal health care and how we can work to promote equity in this critical area.
Health advocates and medical professionals will discuss prenatal care accessibility and more on Tuesday, May 23. The event is in partnership with the Novant Health Foundation.
EQUALibrium Live is sponsored by Novant Health, Wells Fargo and our members.
