12-year-old charged in Charlotte killing

On Friday, CMPD says a 16-year-old was killed in a shooting on Burnt Umber Drive near W.T. Harris Boulevard in northeast Charlotte. Police say Jaiden Harris was found with a gunshot wound just after 7pm and pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have charged a 12-year-old with involuntary manslaughter in the case. The juvenile has been released to their parents.
