Police are investigating whether a shooting Sunday on Interstate 77 in the Mooresville area was the result of road rage.
Authorities said two people inside a black Kia were shot before the vehicle crashed near Exit 35 in Iredell County.
A woman was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
Police said they are investigating reports that a red truck may have been involved in the shooting.
No arrests have been announced.
