An assistant dean at UNC Charlotte has been charged with six counts of embezzlement. Ashley Postell helped coordinate activities at the school's fraternities and sororities. UNC Charlotte police arrested her yesterday. Postell is charged with three counts of embezzlement by a public officer and three counts of embezzlement of state property. The school's police department declined to release details such as the amount believed to be stolen. Instead, the department referred all questions to the university's public relations office. Spokeswoman Buffie Stephens said she also couldn't disclose the amount because the investigation is still underway. She says the alleged embezzlement came to light Monday morning. Postell took the job as Assistant Dean of Students for Greek Life two years ago. She has been released on bond. UNC Charlotte has suspended her with pay until the outcome of the investigation.
