New CATS CEO discusses push for 25-cent rate hike
Charlotte Area Transit system officials say the half-cent sales tax for transit service isn't generating enough revenue. People just aren't spending as much these days. So CATS has proposed a 25-cent hike in bus and train fares to help close a $2 million budget shortfall.
