Couple, two children found dead
Updated at 11:25 a.m. Charlotte police are investigating the deaths of four people, including a man who committed suicide and two children apparently dead for several days. According to the CMPD, a man called 911 at about 11:15 p.m. to request that officers check on his niece in an apartment complex at 6930 Providence Square Drive. The niece, Nateesha Ward Chapman, lived there with her husband and four kids. Upon arrival, police saw the husband, 33-year-old Kenneth Jermaine Chapman, standing on stairs inside the apartment. Then, they heard two gunshots. Two children ran outside the apartment. The husband was dead, apparently from a self-inflicted shot to the head. Police then found two dead girls inside the apartment: 1 year-old Nakyia Jael Chapman and 13-year-old Na'Jhae Parker. CMPD says it appears they had been dead for several days. Police found their mother, Nateesha Chapman, early Tuesday morning, at about 2:45 a.m. Nateesha Chapman, 34, was inside another apartment she leased on Via Romano Drive. CMPD says "it appears that she has been deceased for some time."
