For the first time in eight years, the Mecklenburg County assessor's office is about to evaluate how much it thinks your home or property is worth. The county's re-valuation process begins in January. It's a process that county commissioners postponed two years ago when the housing market tanked. WFAE's Scott Graf spoke to County Assessor Garrett Alexander to learn about how the process works and the challenges in evaluating property when there are so many foreclosures. This site was created to help answer residents' questions about the re-evaluation process.
