An airline passenger at Charlotte Douglas International Airport was charged early this morning after security officers found a loaded pistol in his luggage.
The weapon - a loaded nine millimeter pistol and an extra 16-round magazine - was found as officers checked the man's carry-on bag at security checkpoint D. The man was cited for carrying a weapon on airport property.
TSA officers have found 13 weapons at the airport so far this year. They found 68 weapons in all of last year.
