Clemson University officials say six students remain hospitalized after being injured early Sunday morning when the floor of a clubhouse party room collapsed.
The students were attending a homecoming party at an off campus apartment complex, sponsored by the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity during homecoming weekend. A Clemson spokesperson said the students were dancing when a large portion of the floor suddenly collapsed. Twenty-nine students were hurt and taken to the hospital with broken bones, fractures and lacerations. None of the injuries are life threatening.
Clemson officials have confirmed 29 students were treated at area hospitals following Saturday night’s floor collapse at an off-campus event. Six students currently remain hospitalized with non-life-threating injuries.

Clemson officials say they do not know what caused the collapse and because the complex is privately owned, they are not investigating the incident. Instead, officials say, they are focusing on providing counseling and other support services to the students who were injured and others who attended the party.
