Micah Schweizer
Micah Schweizer is on the mic bright and early, hosting Morning Edition on 88.3 WNIN-FM. He's also the creator and host of WNIN's weekly talk show, The Trend. Evansville Living Magazine has named Micah "Best Voice to Wake Up To," and his reporting has been recognized by the Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists.
He got his start in public broadcasting at WLSU in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he served as a reporter and program host before coming to WNIN in 2008. As a reporter, Micah has contributed to NPR, WNYC, the Ohio River Radio Consortium, Harvest Public Media, the Alaska Public Radio Network, Wisconsin Public Radio, and the BBC World Service, as well as Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations. Micah also occasionally moderates community forums.
He was born in Switzerland and grew up in Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Bucknell University in 2000 with majors in French and German. Micah worked as a middle and high school teacher before succumbing to the siren call of radio.
In his free time, Micah enjoys cooking and playing Irish traditional music on the wooden flute. He lives in Evansville with his wife and several rescued cats.
