In this episode, charter schools and gangs in Chester, SC, are among the issues addressed. Gwendolyn also gives some observations from one of her first assignments: Covering a hearing in which the convictions of the Friendship 9 were overturned.

In his eight years there, Greg had roles as a reporter, editor and producer. He was the executive producer of a television news magazine and news director for radio and television when he decided to head south for Charlotte.
