Charlotte Rep. Jeff Jackson has resigned, in preparation for being sworn in as North Carolina attorney general on Wednesday. His congressional term was due to expire on Friday. In a video posted on Tuesday, Jackson thanked his supporters and said he plans to continue creating the conversational videos that brought him some national attention.
"Tomorrow I'll take the oath to become attorney general, and my plan is to approach the communication side of the job in the exact same way. So when something happens that is important and interesting, I'm gonna turn on this camera and tell you about it," he said.
Jackson succeeds current Attorney General Josh Stein, who is being sworn in as the state’s new governor.
