    Join us for our 1-Day Virtual Music and Arts Workshop!

    Students will learn from professional musicians music education and appreciation regarding the history of this unique woodwind. The instrument is a handheld free-reed similar to a pump organ or harmonica which also features a musical keyboard on top, and is played by blowing air through a mouthpiece that fits into a hole on the side of the instrument. Melodicas are small, lightweight, portable and many are designed for children to play!

Keynotes will take place in the auditorium for all attendees and will be broadcast live for virtual attendees. Specialty "Pod" Tracks. Each attendee will choose one of four specialty "pod" learning tracks to engage in focused learning when not attending keynote sessions. Choose your specialty pod when registering. The pods tracks are: Employee Engagement Total Rewards Talent Acquisition HR Department of 1 In addition, all pods tracks will include aspects of leadership, HR law, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Students and emerging professionals may wish to participate in the "HR Department of 1" pod track due to it's generalist nature. Virtual attendees will attend the employee engagement pod, which will be streamed live.
  • Join us for a day of singing, dancing, acting and crafting at one of Mini Camps at Matthews Playhouse for grades K-3 and 4-6th. These camps happen in conjunction with teacher workdays on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school calendar. Each camp will have themed activities with a theater focus.

    We are celebrating the world of Dr. Seuss in this mini camp! Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in a fantastical musical extravaganza. 
    March 27th - Sing!
    This mini camp is for all our singers! Vocal warm-ups, music games, and specialist activities such as percussion, drama and acting, vocal technique, and more. Come with a song in your heart!
  • Rising 6-11 Graders (6th graders must be 12 years old), this is the perfect time to try rowing as these camps are centered around you! Just like you saw in Boys in the Boat, rowing is the ultimate team sport. We will teach you the fundamentals of rowing and about our program. Whether you are looking for a team sport or to stay in shape during your off season, come give rowing a try this summer. Current CYR athletes will be there helping our new athlete's how to row and we will have awesome alumni helping coach. Why not give this Olympic sport a try?

Charlotte Youth Rowing and Belmont Rowing Center have teamed up and will be running these camps together. What that means for you?     Kayaking/ Canoeing: Paddle your way through serene waters, finding balance and speed.
