Known for its range and uplifting dynamism, the trio represents Cohen’s “kaleidoscopic sense of musical narrative,” as noted in Downbeat Magazine. Expect to be treated to a master class in stylistic juxtapositions, including the melding of stride, blues, church, swing, bebop, free, and contemporary styles, resulting in the innovative sound of Jazz’s future.

  • Join the wild ones of The Hot Sauce Truck at Divine Barrel Brewing on Friday, 10/13/23, starting at 6pm for The Hot Sauce Truck Challenge! It’s just $5 to participate, and you’ll have to run the gauntlet of 10 hot sauce samples, with each one incrementally increasing in heat. If you can make it through the 10 samples unscathed then you’ll win awesome prizes! All proceeds from this amazingly fun event will be donated to our friends at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte, so come feel the heat for a good cause!

  • Carolina Pro Musica presents the 6th songwriting workshop at the Gaston County Public Library, Saturday March 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM. This event is for those who write lyrics or music and want assistance with their ideas. Bring started projects to work on if you have them. A piano will be available or bring your own instrument such as a guitar. The workshop is free to the public.
    Facilitators for this event include Edward Ferrell and Karen Hite Jacob from Carolina Pro Musica plus
    Jocelyn Thompson, well-known Gastonia music educator.
    The workshop is open to students and adults. No prior experience is necessary.
