  • Tilled Soil Announces the ‘Root and Rise Summit’: A High-Impact One-Day Event to Equip Young Charlotte Women with Career, Confidence, and Financial Skills

CHARLOTTE, NC – July 7, 2025 – The Tilled Soil Organization today announced its inaugural Root and Rise Summit, a first-of-its-kind event designed to provide young women ages 15-25 the ultimate blueprint for success in self-awareness, financial literacy, and career development. The summit will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at The Hamilton Event Spaces in Charlotte, NC. Join this groundbreaking, one-day-only event transforming the Hamilton Event Spaces into an electrifying hub of opportunity where futures are forged and potential is ignited.

The Root and Rise Summit is a high-energy, immersive experience, complete with a live DJ keeping the vibe poppin' from start to finish. It’s the only event in the region that fuses three critical pillars of success—self-awareness, financial mastery, and strategic career development—into one powerful, life-changing day topped with dynamic keynotes, expert-led panels, and uniquely interactive experiences designed to cultivate confidence. Tickets are limited, and this inaugural event is the one chance to be part of the movement from the very beginning.

The summit was born from the personal journey of Tilled Soil’s founder, Tura Byrd, who created the organization to be the guiding force she desperately needed as a young woman navigating self-doubt and unexpected challenges. Tilled Soil exists to provide a safe, action-oriented community where young women, especially women of color, can unlock their power and build the life they were meant to live.

“If you’re in a season of discovering who you are and where you’re headed, and you have the chance to attend this summit, don’t hesitate,” states Tura Byrd, Tilled Soil Founder. “This isn’t just an event—it’s a launchpad. Ten years from now, you’ll either look back grateful you went, or wish you had.”

Unlike traditional conferences, attendees at the Root and Rise Summit won't just sit and listen; they will dive headfirst into hands-on, transformative experiences in our "Action Zones":

    - The "Reality Check" Financial Simulation: Step into a high-stakes challenge where you’ll manage a $400 mock discretionary budget. Navigate real-world spending choices at thrilling stations for shopping, entertainment, and even investing to master your money in a way a lecture never could.
    - The "Root & Reflect" Journaling Experience: Begin a powerful journey inward with a guided journaling exercise designed to uncover your core values and greatest strengths. This is where true confidence is born.
    - The Resume-Auditing Power Hour: Take a quick seat for a one-on-one power strategy session with an expert career coach to get personalized, actionable feedback that will instantly elevate your resume.
    - The Industry "Speed Dating" Hub: Unlock career secrets by connecting directly with inspiring female leaders from diverse industries like STEM, Finance, and the Arts. You’ll tackle real-world challenges and discover professions you never knew existed.
    - The Professional Headshot Studio: Capture your professional essence with a FREE, high-quality headshot perfect for making your LinkedIn profile command attention.

This event will be headlined by an electrifying keynote on self-awareness from Dr. Tonjanika "TJ" Ballard, DNP, PMHNP-C, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of experience in unlocking human potential.
