  • Nazareth Child & Family Connection's annual Fun Fest is the organization's largest fundraiser of the year. It is a daylong festival featuring kids' games, live music by The Castaways, a car and truck show, silent auction, all kinds of food and a raffle to win a brand new car. Admission to the event is free.
  • This month’s meeting will be focusing on Oral Heath and Cancer treatment with Anita S. H. Patel, DMD - Atrium Health. Dr. Patel earned her DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania – School of Dental Medicine in 1995. She completed her General Practice Residency at Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences 1995-1997 (formerly known as UMDNJ-NJDS). She completed a fellowship in Dental Education for the Care of the Disabled at the University of Washington in 1997. She was a part-time faculty and staff dentist at Rutgers and at Jersey Shore Medical Center from 1997-2000. She also served as the Program Director of the General Practice Residency ang Hospital Dentistry programs from 2000 to 2007. Her clinical interests include dental management of the intellectually disabled, medically complex and oncological patients.

  • A big man with a big sound, Two-time Grammy Award winner, Gregory Porter has quickly become one of jazz’s most important male vocalists, a soul-drenched singer often at his best delivering his emotionally charged original songs. Largely unknown before his sensational, Grammy-nominated 2010 debut CD Water, Porter followed up with last year’s Be Good (both on Motéma Music), an album marked by his supple phrasing, sophisticated lyrics and tough but tender delivery.
  • Syncopated Ladies is a Female Tap Dance Band from Los Angeles, CA created by EMMY AWARD NOMINATED tap dancer and choreographer Chloe Arnold, protégé of Debbie Allen. Syncopated Ladies' viral videos have amassed over 100 million views. They have worked with Mega star Beyonce, FOX's So You Think You Can Dance as the winner of the first dance crew battle, performed on Good Morning America, at the US OPEN, and they have also performed to sold-out audiences in their full-length concert, "Syncopated Ladies: Live!”
  • American composer Morten Lauridsen's moving, ethereal Lux Aeterna, a meditation on death and the promise of life beyond, as well as Bach’s funeral Cantata 106, will be performed by Queens choirs in the splendid Belk Chapel. This Arts At Queens concert is presented by the Department of Art, Design and Music. We regret to announce that the Bach Akademie Charlotte will not be joining us for this performance due to a family emergency. We intend on rescheduling the collaborative concert with them at a later date. Both pieces of the planned program will be performed, conducted by Justin Smith, and accompanied by Yoon Sun Song.
  • Register today for the 9th annual Fight For Air Climb that will be held at Truist Field, Home of the Charlotte Knights on March 26th. Participants will climb over 800 steps to support healthy lungs and clean air alongside family, friends and co-workers. As the only American Lung Association stair climb in North Carolina, the Fight For Air Climb raises critical dollars to support the mission of the American Lung Association -- saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Proceeds from the event supports educational programs in North Carolina as well as advocacy work and research.

  • Philadelphia’s powerhouse contemporary-ballet company BalletX, led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox, hits the stage with choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s The Little Prince. The full-length ballet performed to the original music of composer Peter Salem is inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless novella of adventure and enlightenment. Lopez Ochoa’s The Little Prince is a ballet for the whole family, sure to delight the imagination of children and adults alike.

  • The Charlotte Pride Band under the artistic direction of John Stanley Ross presents "A Celebration of Diversity." Mr. Ross is director of bands at Appalachian State University. The concert is Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 4pm in Charlotte's Park Road Church, 3900 Park Rd. Guest soloist is Victor Wang, principal flutist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The band will perform music by a diverse array of composers including Kevin Day, Carolyn Bremer, Aaron Copland, Jennifer Higdon, Clare Grundman and Cecile Chaminade. The band is composed of approximately 50 members of greater Charlotte’s LGBTQ community and ally supporters.
