Friday, October 17, 2014
Most of us have heard about the Founding Fathers since we were little children. They are woven into the fabric of American society and, despite the fact that many cannot name their congressman, people can identify the Founding Fathers. Well, what about the Founding Mothers? NPR's Cokie Roberts wants us to remember them and their amazing accomplishments - from Abigail Adams to the lesser known women in the nation's early days.
Cokie Roberts - Veteran journalist, political commentator for NPR and ABC News and bestselling author of many books, including We Are Our Mothers' Daughters, Ladies of Liberty and From This Day Forward, written with her husband Steve Roberts. Her most recent is Founding Mothers: Remembering the Ladies, an illustrated children's book based on her 2004 adult book, Founding Mothers: The Women Who Raised Our Nation.
