The Movement Against I-77 Toll Lanes

http://www.ncdot.gov
Rendering of toll lane on I-77.

We’ve been arguing about the I-77 toll road for months. Those in favor say it’s too late to cancel it. Opponents disagree. People have even changed sides. Some who used to favor the project are now opposed. But on Monday night, Charlotte City Council decided in favor of tolls. Still, opponents haven’t given up their plans to stop it. We get an update on where we are and hear from those working against it.

Guests
Jim Puckett, Republican from Huntersville who serves as the District 1 Commissioner on the Mecklenburg County Commission. He has been leading the political opposition to the toll lanes in North Mecklenburg, along with other political leaders and business owners.

Kurt Naas, founder of Widen I-77, a citizen movement opposing the NCDOT’s plan for toll lanes on I-77.
