The death knell has sounded on the Crisis Alert System at CMS. CMS officials say it doesn’t work but the company disagrees. The Town of Matthews is back in the good graces of CMS. CMPD Chief Kerr Putney says he’s set with all he needs for crowd control at the Republican Convention, and hot off his New Hampshire primary win, Bernie Sanders comes to Charlotte.

In other CMS news, the town of Matthews has made up with the school system, saying it no longer wants to form its own municipal charter school…. AND CMS is requesting more money from the county to finish its 2017 bonds projects. The county wants accountability. We go through the details.
CMPD Chief Kerr Putney told City Council that Charlotte already has the crowd control powers the department needs for the RNC, and that he wouldn’t be asking for additional ordinances for this summer’s convention. We’ll discuss what he told council.
And hot off his win in New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders is headed for the Queen City. Mike Bloomberg was also in North Carolina this week and scored a new endorsement from Mayor Vi Lyles.
