Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen Out For The Season Due To Foot Injury

After re-injuring his surgically repaired right foot, Greg Olsen has been placed on injured reserve by the Carolina Panthers.

The decision signals that the star tight end will be out for the rest of the season.

Olsen re-injured the foot during last Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The injury follows the breaking of the same bone that kept him out of nine games in 2017 during this year's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. He missed just three games due to the break and returned to practice in early October.

Wide receiver Mose Frazier was promoted from the practice squad to fill the open spot on the roster.

Olsen finishes the season with 291 yards and 4 touchdowns in nine games played. He has not played a full season since 2016, when he recorded 80 catches for 1,073 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
