Charlotte's noise ordinance has been updated for the first time in 25 years. Charlotte City Council voted unanimously Monday night to amend the ordinance. The new rules say outdoor music at bars and clubs cannot be louder than 85 decibels during the day and early evening, and no louder than 60 decibels late at night. Any business that doesn't follow the new regulations could pay a $1,000 fine. The Charlotte Observer has more here.
