Authorities are investigating how a man was able to stowaway on a U.S Airways plane from Tampa to Charlotte on Tuesday. The man has been identified as a mechanic with the airline, but his has not been released. Multiple media outlets report the man flew from Tampa to Charlotte in the tail area of the plane. WSOC-TV reports he then used an employee "buddy" pass to board another plane at the Charlotte airport bound for Pittsburgh. He was taken into custody there. The TSA is looking into whether the man used his airline credentials to gain access to the plane from Tampa to Charlotte. It's the second time in less than a year that the security of a U.S. Airways plane has been breached. Last fall, 16-year-old Delvonte Tisdale stowed-away in a plane from Charlotte to Boston. His body was found in a Boston suburb along the plane's path to Logan International Airport.
