Wingate University will host this year's MET-Rx World's Strongest Man Competition in September. The competition will be televised on ESPN in December, and then re-broadcast on ESPN2 next year. The annual competition began in the 1970s. It will be the first time a university has hosted it. The competition has been held in countries such as Zambia, Iceland and Morocco.
