The Charlotte Mecklenburg school board, led by Democrats, have selected a fellow Democrat to represent the largely Republican Sixth District. The board met Thursday and picked Amelia Stinson-Wesley of Pineville to fill the remainder of the term vacated when Tim Morgan was elected to an at-large seat on the board, in November. Stinson-Wesley will serve the next two years. She's 43, a Methodist minister, and mother of two CMS elementary students. She'll be sworn in before next Tuesday's meeting.
