Mountain Stage
Peter Wolf.

Peter Wolf makes his first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. Best known as the former singer of The J. Geils Band, Wolf has musical roots in R&B, soul and country. His appearance on the show was a last-minute unannounced surprise for the audience, as he was in Charleston that weekend with the rest of The J. Geils Band and fellow rock veteran Bob Seger.

The group's touring guitarist, Duke Levine, is a longtime friend of Mountain Stage, having appeared on the show many times alongside Lucy Kaplansky, Shawn Colvin and others, so phone calls were made and a time was set. Along with drummer Tom Arey, Wolf and Levine deliver a stripped-down set of three classic songs here, including "Cry One More Time," which was famously covered by Gram Parsons on his solo debut GP, and the radio staple "Love Stinks."
