North Carolina Senate leader and House speaker will visit Charlotte

North Carolina Senate Leader Phil Berger and new House Speaker Destin Hall will be in Charlotte Monday to discuss priorities for the 2025 legislative session.

They’ll speak Monday afternoon to the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance in uptown.

City leaders are trying to work with the General Assembly to allow a one-cent sales tax referendum for roads and transit. Berger and Hall will address the group at 2 p.m.
