Branford Marsalis Plays Ibert

Branford Marsalis Plays Ibert
Exhilarating. Swinging. Spirited. On May 14 & 15, the sounds of joy return to the Belk stage as your CSO performs for a live audience for the first time since March 2020! Jazz royalty and three-time Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis joins your CSO to perform Ibert's lyrical and soaring Concertino da camera and Schulhoff's jazz-inspired Hot Sonate. Entranced by songs he overheard being sung by a Transylvanian maid, Bartok composed his Romanian Folk Dances - each movement using a melody from a different region of Transylvania.
