Soles for Souls 5K Run to Benefit Local Nonprofit Supporting the Unhoused Community
Lake Norman Event Brings Community Together for Meaningful Cause
LAKE NORMAN, NC – Community members are invited to lace up their running shoes for a meaningful cause at the third annual Soles for Souls 5K Run (formerly known as Hustle for the Homelss), benefiting Soul to Soul Outreach, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Lincoln County and the greater Charlotte region.
The charity run will take place on October 25 at 9:00 a.m. at Sally’s YMCA (1601 Forney Creek Pkwy, Denver NC), featuring a scenic run which includes paved surfaces and wooded trails. Registration is now open for runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages and fitness levels.

• Date: October 25, 2025
• Time: Day of Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., Race starts at 9:00 a.m.
• Location: Sally’s YMCA, 1601 Forney Creek Pkwy, Denver, NC
• Registration Fee: 40.00 (includes race t-shirt and post-race refreshments)
• Categories: 5K Run (times), 5K Walk/Run (untimed), Kids Fun Run (ages 11 and under)

Soul to Soul Outreach works tirelessly to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness by providing essential services, resources, and pathways to stable housing. The organization focuses on treating each person with dignity and respect while addressing both immediate needs and long-term solutions.
"The funds raised through the Soles for Souls 5K will help us expand our outreach programs and provide critical services like emergency shelter assistance, job training resources, and basic necessities," said Carolyn McCauley. "This community support makes a real difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors."
Race Features and Activities
The family-friendly event will include:
• Professionally timed 5K race with awards for top finishers in multiple age categories
• Untimed 5K walk for participants of all abilities
• Kid Zone with activities for children
• Kids Fun Run for children 11 and under
• Post-race celebration with refreshments and music
• Vendor booths featuring local community organizations
• Information tables about Soul to Soul Outreach's programs and volunteer opportunities
Registration and Sponsorship
Early bird registration is available through October 22, 2025 at https://tinyurl.com/mshju82p. Day-of-registration will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. on race day.
Local businesses and organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Lynne Hoey at lynne@soultosouloutreach.org. Sponsorships are $250 and include various modes of recognition and community visibility.

Lincoln County has seen increased awareness of homelessness issues, making community-driven solutions more important than ever. Awards and Recognition
Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as age group winners in categories including: 12-17, 18-39 and 40+. All participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt and finisher medal.
