The official count says there are about 6,000 people homeless in the Charlotte region. But that doesn't include the many people working low-wage jobs and at risk of becoming homeless every day. Photographer Susan Sidebottom spent eight months documenting their stories. During that time, many of her subjects were able to find housing through local nonprofit agencies that offer rent subsidies. Sidebottom's photos are featured in a new exhibit opening today at the Levine Museum of the New South. WFAE's Julie Rose reports.
