A sixth person accuses fired CMPD officer of sexual assault

A sixth person has come forward accusing former Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Marcus Jackson of sexual assault. According to police, Jackson was responding to a domestic violence complaint on November 29th when he fondled the latest reported. The person notified the department on January 8th, nearly a week-and-a-half after Jackson was fired and the first charges were filed against him. A Mecklenburg County grand jury heard about this latest accusation today. Police also presented the testimony of five other women who say Jackson pulled them over on traffic stops and sexually assaulted them. The grand jury indicted Jackson on eleven charges that include sexual battery, felonious restraint, extortion, and interfering with an emergency communication. More indictments could come. Detectives have been trying to find other potential victims by contacting people Jackson may have dealt with while on patrol. Police say no new cases have come out of that effort.
