The Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools board has decided on three finalists for the superintendent job. They'll be introduced to the public next week. After holding closed session interviews at the airport to narrow down the field of candidates, the public portion of the superintendent search will get underway next week. The board plans to release the names of the three candidates on Monday. They'll all come to visit the district on Wednesday. The candidates will tour Mallard Creek High, Sedgefield Middle and Nathaniel Alexander Elementary. In the afternoon, they'll be interviewed individually by panels of community members chosen by the board of education. CMS will also hold an evening meeting with all three candidates at Northwest School of the Arts. Those meetings are open to the public, but people must submit questions ahead of time via the district's Twitter or Facebook accounts. On Thursday, they'll meet with CMS principals and talk with local elected officials.
