Raleigh-Based Conservative Civitas Institute Gets New Leader

The head of North Carolina's chapter of Americans for Prosperity has been chosen to lead the Raleigh-based conservative political organization Civitas Institute.   Donald Bryson will take over for Francis De Luca next week.  De Luca announced last fall that he would be stepping down as the head of Civitas this year after a decade in the role.

Bryson has been the  state director of AFP since 2014.  Prior to that he served as a field organizer for the group working in the Raleigh-Durham area.  Since its founding in 2005, Civitas has focused on promoting school choice and lower taxes, among other things.  Americans for Prosperity was founded in 2004 and is funded by the Koch Brothers.   Bryson will start his new role at Civitas on January 16th.

Marshall came to WFAE after graduating from Appalachian State University, where he worked at the campus radio station and earned a degree in communication. Outside of radio, he loves listening to music and going to see bands - preferably in small, dingy clubs.
