Police have charged a suspect in a murder early Saturday in Charlotte.

In a release, CMPD says Richard Bernard Grier, 55, is charged in the death of Andrew Tyrelle Allen, 32.  Police say Allen was found with multiple stab wounds after officers were called to a gas station in the 200 block of East Boulevard a little after 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Allen was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Grier was arrested near the scene of the fatal stabbing, according to CMPD.  He's being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.

There’s no word on a motive in the killing.
