Early voting starts Thursday in North Carolina

Early, in-person voting begins Thursday in all 100 North Carolina counties. There are 33 sites in Mecklenburg. For this year’s election, roughly 60% of all ballots are expected to be cast by mail or in-person early voting.

That begins at 8 a.m. Thursday and will last until 3 pm Saturday, Nov. 2nd. You can vote at any early voting site in your county of residence—though you have to vote at your precinct on Election Day.

In western North Carolina, counties devastated by flooding from Hurricane Helene had planned to have 80 early voting sites, but there will be 76 open. Some early voting sites have been moved because voters can’t get to them or they are being used for disaster relief.
