One person was injured in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night outside a restaurant in Gastonia.

WCNC reports police were responding to calls about a man with a gun about 10 p.m. at a Buffalo Wild Wings on Cox Road near Interstate 85. The Gastonia Police Department told the station the suspect was shot by a responding officer who was not hurt.

Few details have been released about the shooting, but people were in the restaurant at the time. Witnesses told The Gaston Gazette that employees locked the doors as an armed man approached. After being shot by police, the man was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Gaston County's district attorney, meanwhile, says no charges will be filed against the officer involved in the shooting.

District Attorney Locke Bell told the Gazette the officer who fired was in serious danger of being harmed. Authorities have not given an update on the suspect’s condition.

The State Bureau of Investigation was also called in to investigate.
