Second Lady Karen Pence is coming to Charlotte Monday to kick off a rally in support of District 9 Republican congressional candidate Mark Harris.
Pence joins a group of Republican women showing their support of Harris that will take place 10 a.m. Monday at the UNC Charlotte’s Center City Campus. Her visit to Charlotte will be followed by a three-day bus tour through the ninth district. The tour will stop in Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Monroe, Matthews and Indian Trail.
The rally kicks off just nine days before early voting begins in North Carolina.
A new poll by the New York Times and Sienna College released this week showed Harris had a five-point lead over the Democratic candidate, Dan McCready. The poll showed Harris was favored by 47 percent of respondents while McCready was favored by 42 percent. Eleven percent of voters said they were undecided.
