Music royalty, including Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Koko Taylor, and J. J. Cale, as well as countless local legends, graced the stage in this converted house.

Sadly, economic pressures caused the club to close in 2017.

This film traces the history of the club, from its humble beginnings to international fame and the hundreds of stories in between.

  • THE CHARLOTTE SINGERS PRESENT ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT

Get ready for a FREE Holiday Concert that will knock your “Grinch” socks right off!

The Charlotte Singers will showcase familiar carols with new and fresh arrangements, along with a carol sung partly in Spanish and a couple of songs even the most avid Christmas music fans may never have heard. The first performance is on Sunday, December 10 at 4:00 PM at Providence Presbyterian Church’s Christian Life Center. The address is: 10140 Providence Church Lane, Charlotte NC, 28277. A second performance will be held on Sunday, December 17, again at 4:00 PM, this time at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC. 28210.

The Charlotte Singers are a group of 70 singers, ranging in age from 15 to 80+, led by the indomitable and super-talented Helen McCorkle Finch. The choral voices will be accompanied by Mrs. McCorkle Finch on piano, the many and varied percussion talents of Scott Rauschenberg, the flute stylings of Sue Demick, violin virtuosos Albert Dulin and Ed Wielunski, plus the bright sounds of Ken Edmonds and Kyle Gavagan on trumpet. Jill Fung will bring tears to your eyes with her cello, and the Pineville-Charlotte Ringers will make you smile with their beautiful handbell skills, led by Glenn Luetkemeier. Come to a wonderful concert and then go out for Sunday dinner! What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in December!

The Charlotte singers have been around since 2015, when Helen founded the group with just 7 members. Our numbers have rebounded since the end of the pandemic, and we continue to grow our way to the 100 singers that Helen would love to direct! We welcome everyone! There is a small fee required to cover operating costs. Interested singers should contact Helen McCorkle Finch about attending a rehearsal and/or joining us.
