Kicking off in April with the iconic and Academy Award-winning Apollo 13, this event will both enlighten and entertain adult theater-goers who are curious to explore how STEM plays an underlying role in our culture and current events.

Carolina Pro Musica: Handel's Banner Year 1724
Carolina Pro Musica continues Season 46 with a concert celebrating Handel (300 Years ago) with a program entitled Handel’s Banner Year: 1724. The concert will be held February 23, 2024, at 7:30 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd, Charlotte NC 28207. This was a great year for Handel in London. He had just moved into a new house on Brook Street in Mayfair where he would live the rest of his life. He had several operas set to premiere include Giulio Cesare (Julius Cesare) which would run for most of the year. He was helping to run the theater where his productions took place.
Our program features several arias from Giulio Cesare as well as instrumental works for flute, recorder, viola da gamba, and harpsichord all from this same time. Tickets are available online or at the door.

Don't Dress For Dinner - Dinner Theatre
"Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in his charming converted French farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi. It's foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well... suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress can't cook. Suppose everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed."
