The holidays always bring a focus on those in need in the community. Guest host David Boraks sits down with those on the frontline of social services, including the new president of the local United Way.

This program originally aired Nov. 20, 2018

In addition to a new leader, United Way of Central Carolinas has a new mission. The agency is shifting its focus to targeted neighborhoods across Charlotte to tackle economic mobility, while still providing services to needy families.

Laura Clark, the organization's new CEO and president, talks with guest host David Boraks about the United Way's efforts.

Leaders from other social services agencies join the discussion as well to look at larger issues, from funding to the loss of grants.
