The 7 Democrats running in Charlotte's City Council at-large primary sit down for a forum at the McGlohon Theater to share their views on the issues facing city hall.
With the 2020 presidential election around the corner, all eyes are on Iowa and New Hampshire these days.
But that voting is still months away. Charlotte, meanwhile, has an election coming up in just a few weeks for offices that have more of a day-to-day impact on Charlotteans, deciding how their tax dollars are spent on roads, affordable housing, police, and so on.
The September 10th primary in Charlotte will decide who will be on the November ballot for mayor and City Council, including the four at-large seats on the Council.
Seven Democrats are in the running for those four spots. There’s no Republican primary for City Council at-large since there’s only one GOP candidate, Joshua Richardson.
To help voters in their decision-making for the primary, we invited the seven candidates, as well as a live audience, to the McGlohon Theater.
