City Council and CMPD begin the year with a new focus on strategies to reduce violence in the Queen City.  HUD Secretary Ben Carson was in Charlotte for an announcement changing the rules for affordable housing.  And the Panthers have a new head coach.

Charlotte City Council and CMPD began the new year with a focus on strategies to reduce violence in the Queen City. This week, CMPD presented data that identified four major hot spots for violence in Charlotte. We’ll talk about what city leaders will do with the information.

HUD Secretary Ben Carson used Charlotte as the backdrop for an announcement about a change in the rules for affordable housing. We’ll talk about reaction to the announcement, which was a rollback of an Obama-era rule.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ new website is no more. The wearecms.com website, which was more than $200,000 in the making, was pulled over the winter break, after complaints from many who used it.
