Lucy Dacus Doesn't Want To Be Funny Anymore

Lucy Dacus is one of my very favorite new artists. Her mix of Southern soul and power-pop is winning and lovable. And then there's her voice, a beautiful, deep, resonant sound that works well when her songs rock and when they're intimate and thoughtful. This video presents a favorite song from her 2016 album No Burden —it's called "I Don't Want to Be Funny Anymore." It comes out on the day Matador Records announced that she's joined their roster.
